Top Zanu (PF) officials visited George Farm recently and ordered tobacco barns and disused compound houses to be renovated and accommodate Zanu (PF) youths. A massive clean-up of the buildings is in progress, said a source.
The farm, situated 16km outside Marondera, was sub-divided under the land reform programme and shared among war veterans and other Zanu (PF) supporters. It is at the edges of Wenimbe Dam where hundreds of murdered suspected MDC supporters were dumped during June 2008 political violence.
Villagers have called on partners in the inclusive government, to investigate the allegations through JOMIC and guarantee the safety of defenceless locals.
