Following a comprehensive 8-1 aggregate defeat at Rufaro over the weekend, CAPS United responded by capturing Highlanders talismanic midfielder Stephen Alimenda and other five new signings. Apart from Alimenda, CAPS United also signed Higlanders and former Warriors winger, Joel Luphahla, Graham Ncube (Bantu
Rovers), Ndumiso Khanye, Godknows Mhangani (both Lengthens and Clive
Kawinga (Eagles).
CAPS United team manager Wilson Mutekede said they were now focusing
on the domestic league title after the humiliating defeat to Al Hilal.
“We made numerous blunders against Al Hilal. It was all down to experience. The team is rebuilding, but our focus now is the league title race. We hope these new acquisitions will fit into the team and help us fight for the title,” he said.
The new signings are expected to play for the Green Machine this weekend.
