Water woes over

RUWA - Water woes that had bedevilled the small town of Ruwa are now a thing of the past after the town successfully completed the construction of a water treatment plant.

In an interview, Ruwa town chairman, Phinius Mushayavanhu, said that the town built the water treatment plant so as not to continue relying on water supplies from Harare which are for the most part erratic. “Our residents are now getting water daily because of the new water treatment plant. We used to rely on water supplies from Harare but we are now self reliant,” said Mushayavanhu.

Before the construction of the water treatment plant Ruwa used to buy water from the city of Harare. However, despite the construction of the plant, water supplies are still unreliable due to the protracted power outages.
