This comes after the PSLs announcement this week of AmaZulu, Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates as participants of this years edition of the four-team tournament, which preambles ABSA Premiesrship season.
The participating teams are voted into action by soccer fans and by the close of voting July 31, Durban-based Amazulu were perched at the top of the 16-team log with 96 975 votes, followed by Sundowns with 77 713, Chiefs with 60 623 and defending champions Pirates with 59 578 votes.
Pretoria-based Sundowns lead the numerical race of Zimbabwean players with four Esrom Nyandoro, Method Mwanjali, Nyasha Mushekwi and Lionel Mtizwa, while Johannesburg-based Chiefs have are one lower with Thomas Sweswe, Zhaimu Jambo and Knowledge Musona.
Orlando Pirates have tough defender Zvenyika Makonese in their ranks, while Amazulu will be the only team without a Zimbabwean in this years competition.
