The Mighty Bulls have now amassed a total of 38 points from 15 matches while Dynamos are still trailing on second position with 28 points but have four games in hand. The Eric Rosen side have won 12 games in the campaign so far, drawing two and losing just one – an impressive performance for a modest club that has not tasted championship glory since its formation from the ashes of the now defunct Black Pool.
Closest rivals Dynamos have won nine out of 11, drawn one and lost one. Interestingly they were handed their first defeat by the log leaders.
However, the gap which has now been opened by Motor Action exerts huge pressure on the Harare giants who are eager to lift the domestic crown having been beaten to the challenge in the last lap of the league race by little Gunners last term.
The premiership pacesetters whose head coach, Joey Antipas was away with the national side in Liberia, felt so confident going into the game against the coalminers that they rested a number of their key players.
Goalkeeper Marlon Jani and defenders Edward Tembo and Norman Njelele watched the game from the terraces of Motor Action Sports Club while captain, Salimu Milanzi started on the bench.
Eric Rosens side effectively wrapped up the tie in first half through in-form midfielder William Kupera in the 30th minute and forward Charles Sibanda seven minutes later.
Motor Action assistant coach David George believes the Bull run will continue and was full of praise for his lads ahead of the remainder of the season.
At the moment we are not thinking about the league, but just taking each game as it comes but I am happy with the way we are handling the pressure at this crucial stage of the campaign,” George said.
“The lads have gained confidence now and the challenge is for them to remain focused right up to the end.”
