Champions League: Ngodzo Part of 5 Player Boost for Dynamos

Dynamos were given a timely boost ahead of their crucial Champions League encounter against holders TP Mazembe this weekend in Lubumbashi with the injection of five key players who may feature against the Congolese champions.

Dynamos has seven first team players suspended for the tie (Benjamin Marere, Washington Arubi, Brighton Tuwaya, Ashley Rambanapasi, George Magariro, Farayi Vimisayi and Dylan Chivandire), a tally of almost biblical proportions.

Dynamos managed to secure the release of goalkeeper Willard Manyatera, defender Zephaniah Ngodzo and midfielder Stephen Alimenda ahead of the clash with Mazembe. All three had been registered for the Champions League before the start of the season. Ngodzo who already had a Dynamos jersey with his name and number printed before his transfer to the De Mbare fell through at the start of the season, is likely to make his maiden appearance for the Glamour Boys partnering with Guthrie Zhokinyi in the heart of defence. Adding to these three is the return to fitness of midfielder Desmond Maringwa and hitman Evans Gwekwerere completing a quintuplet of seasoned experience required at this level of the game.

Khumbulani Banda who impressed with early season form is a more than able replacement at left back while Manyatera has excellent Champions League pedigree.

Club Secretary General Oliver Manyau said, We have secured the services of all the players who are registered with us in the Champions League. The coach now has some players at his disposal and its up to him on how to use them.
