CEO forum in SA

JOHANNESBURG - The WITS Business School in Johannesburg will this weekend host the first-ever Chief Executive Officers forum, where Zimbabwe will be represented by Ozias Bvute.

The event is organised under the International Cricket Council Africa Regional Office and will be conducted at the ICC Africa Regional Development Manager, Cassim Suliman. He told The Zimbabwean that the forum was about the continued upskilling of the African Associate and Affiliate members in a first for Africa Development. Suliman sees the first CEOs’ Forum as a long term relationship with the WITS Business School in Johannesburg.

Suliman said: This week will see a historical first for the ICC Africa Regional Office as it consolidates the relationship with the WITS Business School in Parktown Johannesburg. As a further part of its Cricket Administrator Programme the ICC Africa Regional Office will be hosting a CEO Forum at the WITS Business School, he said. The relationship has been established over the last few years, with Professor Drikus Kriek presenting Governance and Leadership topics at the annual ICC Africa Forums. It was decide to expand this relationship to include the on the job training of the newly appointed CEOs of the Associates and Affiliates.

The focus of the CEO Forum will be Corporate Governance and Strategic Leadership. It is hoped this type of CEOs’ Forum will be rolled out to the next layer of ICC Africa membership that will be employing full time staff. It is seen as a crucial aspect of the Africa CAP programme to create and develop sustainable cricket leadership, who will be able to improve cricket as a whole in Africa, said Graham McMillan, ICC Africa Senior Development Co-ordinator in an interview.
