Health survey underway

HARARE - The Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency (ZIMSTAT), in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Child Welfare (MOHCW), have embarked on the fifth Zimbabwe Demographic Health Survey (ZDHS), according to a recent press statement.

The survey was commenced in September this year and is expected to last for five months. Data gathered will be used in monitoring and reporting on the progress towards the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

The ZDHS is a standard survey to get information on key health and demographic indications such as Reproduction, Family Planning, Adult and Maternal Mortality, Maternal and Child Health, Anaemia, Malaria, HIV and Aids, STIs, Immunization, Nutrition, and other health indications.

The survey will also meet the data needs of the Medium Term Planning (MTP).
