Jambo welcomes call up

zhaimu_jamboJOHANESBURG - Kaizer Chiefs defender Zhaimu Jambo (Pictured) welcomed his call up to the Zimbabwe national team and pledged to make an impressive display against Cape Verde.

The player said such a performance would help him win his lace back in the Chiefs side that is strongly challenging for honours this season.

It is to my advantage that I have been called up and hopefully I will feature in the game. I have the chance to play some competitive football for my country and I must make this opportunity count in my favour. Hopefully I can do well and it will get me back on track towards seeing more action for Chiefs Jambo told The Zimbabwean in Johannesburg this week.

Jambo has not featured for Chiefs this season after suffering injury. He is one of four Amakhosi players to receive a call up to the national team.

The Zimbabwean Football Association also called up Knowledge Musona, Tinashe Nengomasha and Thomas Sweswe for the Zimbabwean national teams 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying game against the Cape Verde this weekend.
