The MDC St Marys organising secretary Connie Taruvinga who was injured in a car accident on her way from the MDc 11th annivessary celebrations has died. Mai Taruvinga, 57, died on monday at Parirenyarwa hospital in Harare. She becomes the fifth MDC member to die after the vehicle they were travelling in was involved in an accident along the Gokwe Zhombe highway. They weToday President Tsvangirai accompanied by senior MDC officials visited the Taruvinga home in St Marys Chitungwiza to pay condolences to the family. He described the late mai Taruvinga as a principled woman who was determined to see true democracy and real change in Zimbabwe. President Tsvangirai was accompanied by deputy president Khupe, Deputy Secretary General Tapiwa mashakada, Deputy Treasurer General Hon Mangoma, party spokesperson Hon Chamisa, Women’s Assembly chairperson Hon Makone, health Minister Hon Madzorera and the deputy minister of media, information and publicity Hon Murisi Zwizwai.
Other MDc cardes who have died from the accident are Anna Mubaiwa, Innocent Muzuva, Alex Magunda and Loveless Sango. Mai Taruvinga leaves behind five children, Lewis, Lilian, Leah, Lazarus and Lizzie. Mourners are gathered at number 138b Harava Street St Marys. She will be burried on wednesday at the warren hills cemetery in Harare.
