Meanwhile, club executive chairman Farai Muntesi has commented on the latest Banc ABC Sup8r Semi Final ruling that awarded Dynamos the match result on a 3 0 scoreline in accordance with the rules of the competition. The match was abandoned with nine minutes left to play, with Dynamos having been awarded a penalty.
I think the judgment is consistent with the rules and regulations of the tournament which state that the ad-hoc committee should be the body that deals with any disputes arising from the matches in this competition.
Both Highlanders and Dynamos signed up for the rules and regulations before the tournament started and thus we should be bound by that.
All the other things that later happened should not cloud the fact that this tournament has its rules and regulations which must be followed to the letter.
On the fine of a third of the prize money Dynamos has to pay, Munetsi said, I feel the fine imposed on us is too harsh and I actually believe we are being punished for complying with the rules and regulations.
We will try to see if we can appeal to have the fine reduced from one third of the prize money.
But we believe that for the rule of law to prevail we should all stick to the rules and regulations and have an ad-hoc committee to deal with such cases as provided by those regulations, that is the only way we can have the rule of law, Munetsi said.
