The striker jointly received the honour with fellow striker Mabhuti Khenyeza and winger Elias Pelembe.
The award was handed over at Sundowns Chloorkop headquarters, by club president, Patrice Motsepe, who said it was a tough decision to come up with the best player for October.
The No. 1 Player of the Month of October proved to be tough decision and was awarded to three players Elias Pelembe, Nyasha Mushekwi and Mabhuti Khenyeza, Motsepe said.
Mushekwi has proved an instant success at The Brazilians and jointly tops the South African goal scoring charts with countryman Knowledge Musona.
His performances have subdued those of popular Bafana Bafana striker Kathlego Mphela.
Meanwhile, third place went to Buhle Mkhwanazi, who joined Sundowns this season from the youth academy.
Defender Mathew Booth was second. Special recognition was also awarded to defender Sibusiso Khumalo and midfielder Lebohang Mokoena.
