Plot thickens to oust Mutambara

The newly elected youth chairperson of the party’s powerful Bulawayo province, Jackson Lunga, last week made it categorically clear that the youth wing in the province would support a candidate from the province, and Ncube in particular.

“I must make it abundantly clear that we are behind Ncube for presidency because we are sick and tired of leaders who do not walk the talk. We want someone who we can brand our party around,” he said.

The provincial youth chairman also said he had dedicated three months to party restructuring and gap filling, a move analysts say is meant to strategically position Ncube’s allies ahead of the congress.
