Reveller abducted from night club

clubMARONDERA - A white man in his late twenties was reportedly abducted from Xellence night club by suspected state security agents early last week.

The man, a regular patron who frequented the up-market and multiracial night spot situated at Chatendeuka Buildings in the industrial area, was abducted in full view of other guests.

Since the local country club became unpopular with youths after it was taken over by war veterans, revellers turned to the new Xellence night club. State security agents became paranoid and did not take kindly to a situation whereby blacks easily mixed with whites at night spots. This was a xenophobic attack by suspected state security agents which must be condemned for what it is. Such barbaric behaviour would impact negatively on both political and racial tolerance. The abducted man remains unaccounted for, said an eye witness who was at the club when the abduction took place.

Sources at the district police headquarters could neither confirm nor deny the abduction but indicated no white man had been brought to their holding cells of late.
