According to the draw conducted in Cairo, Egypt, on Monday, Dynamos – who finished the season second – received a bye into the first round on the strength of their previous campaigns in the tournament.
They will play the winner of the preliminary round clash between O Real de Bangui of the Central African Republic and Moloudia de Alger of Algeria.
The first leg of Motor Action’s preliminary round match will be played in Harare at Rufaro on the weekend of 28-30 January, with the second leg pencilled for the weekend of 11-13 February .
A potentially-explosive first round clash against Ivory Coast giants Asec Mimosas is in store if the Mighty Bulls beat CNaPS and the former African champions defeat ASC SNIM Casando of Mauritania in the preliminary round.
Nine clubs received byes into the first round: Dynamos, ESS of Algeria, Esperance of Tunisia, Al Hilal and Al Ahly of Egypt, Libya’s Ittihad, Stade Malien of Mali, reigning African champions and Club World Cup runners up TP Mazembe of the DRC and El Merreikh of Sudan.
The final of the tournament will be played in November and the Orange Confederation Cup final in December.

HARARE- NEWLY crowned Zimbabwe Premier League champions Motor Action have landed in a tricky draw in their maiden African Champions League after they were drawn to face CNaPS Sport of Madagascar in the preliminary round of the lucrative African club competition.
