Dynamos make the trip to Masvingo today with their confidence dented after a shock 1-0 defeat to lowly Kiglon in a midweek fixture at Rufaro, but should still be able to muster the mental strength to overcome FC Victoria to keep their title hopes alive.
The midweek defeat to Llody Mutasa-coached Kiglon that came after another confidence shattering 1-o loss Gunners — left DeMbare trailing top placed Motor Action by two points. The Might Bulls were held to one-all draw by Gunners in their mid-week clash.
Dynamos goalkeeper Washington Arubi, one of the most outstanding players in the premiership this season rallied his teammates to raise their game against an FC Victoria that should come with all guns blazing against Dynamos as the Masvingo-based side fights to escape the relegation axe.
Arubi warned that should DeMbare lose to FC Victoria and Motor Action wins against Highlanders today that would virtually mean the end of Dynamos challenge for the title.
“The game against FC Victoria is very important to us. There is a danger that we might under estimate FC Victoria because they are a basement club. That will be foolish because these basement teams are the most dangerous, said Arubi.
He added: They throw everything at you because all they need is to survive. Look at what happened on Wednesday against Kiglon. They dominated for long periods and we lost maximum points. That should not be repeated if we are to win the league title. We have to roll up our sleeves because this is the time to separate boys from men.”
FC Victoria were handed the heaviest defeat of the season by Black Mambas who clobbered them 8-0 in their previous encounter at Morris Depot last weekend.
They are still on second position from the bottom with a paltry 16 points and will be eager to bag all points at stake this afternoon as they hope for survival.
