Members of the church with clean-shaven heads and traditional rods last week forced people to a meeting at Mudzi Centre. It was addressed by Zanu (PF) officials who included Marx Chizhakwa and Patrick Chitombo. Business came to a standstill at the Mudzi shops when the vapostori members came toy-toying. They were chanting that (President Robert) Mugabe has been chosen by God and therefore all people in Mudzi must follow him, said a teacher, who pleaded not to be identified.
At the meeting, people were told that there is no longer space for MDC supporters in the district where Zanu (PF) claims to have a stronghold. The MDC has raised concern over what it called an intrusion into the right of people to worship.
