Dubbed the Zimbabwe Achievers Awards (ZAA), the event will kick-off with a Nominations, Press and Awards launch in London on the evening of January 29.
The ZAA is a special awards ceremony seeking to recognise Zimbabweans throughout the UK who have pushed the limits against all odds to raise the Zimbabwean flag high and do both themselves and their countrymen, said spokesman, Conrad Mwanza early this week.
The launch will announce those who have made the shortlist, while the final awards ceremony, will be held in April. The committee has called on people to send in nominations for the awards, with the nomination process open to the public until January 14. Public voting will open at the end of January.
Celebrating art, business acumen, self expression and achievement across all genres, the Zimbabwe Achievement Awards aim to recognise the commitment to excellence, creativity, innovation and dedication of those Zimbabweans who have continued to expand on their talents and skill-set whilst celebrating their heritage, said Mwanza, adding that the event would also give an opportunity to network and interact with fellow Zimbabwe’s movers and shakers.
