Chimanimani district has experienced a recent spate of intimidation by losing Chimanimani West Member of parliament and former Zanu PF) minister, Munacho Mutezo and Jennifer Night from Zanu (PF) womens league. However, Bennett supporters remained resolute. We are not easily cowed by these Zanu (PF) threats. Bennett is our hero and we will always support him come what may, said Enock Chinyai.
Bennett, who is the MDC minister of Agriculture designate and thenational treasurer, is a very popular figure in Chimanimani district, well known for helping villagers in the area. His Charleswood Farm employed many locals, but Zanu (PF) war veterans invaded the farm causing a mass unemployment in the district.
Bennett has done a lot for us here (Chimanimani). He gave us employment, houses to live in and sent our children to school, but all that was taken away from us by Zanu (PF), said another staunch Bennett supporter.
