The partys commissariat, headed by Information Minister Webster Shamu, presented a report to the partys December conference detailing the move.
Greater interest in the party, its ideals and its empowerment programmes has began to show within the Diaspora community, with growing membership showing in countries such as South Africa, the report said.
In Britain, party structures are being formed through voluntary action. The commissariat department made recommendations for the party to acknowledge this positive effort in order to see how it can support membership building
in these countries in a more substantial way.
We know that the ZANU-PF party maintained branches in the United Kingdom before independence in 1980 and in the boom years that followed, but its growing unpopularity decimated the structures.
In all my years here in the United Kingdom l have never heard anyone who is enthusiastic with the principles and programmes of ZANU-PF. Moving abroad is a ploy by ZANU-PF to plant its oppressors across the globe. People in the diaspora have no business dealing with shameless oppressors who parade themselves as freedom fighters with national interests at heart. The UK and South African governments should move quickly to ban any attempt by Robert Mugabe and his cronies to set up bases in their territories. The ZANU-PF wish is to infiltrate the diasporian communities and therefore extend its terror machine across the borders of Zimbabwe. This must never be allowed to happen. ZANU-PF has no place in civilised communities and this proposed move must be resisted by all the great democracies in the world.
ZANU-PF is basically a party of hooligans who thirst after the blood of their own defenceless citizens. They are murderers and torturers who rule the country by an iron fist. Sanctions on Robert Mugabe and his cronies should equal sanctions on ZANU-PF. These vampires have sucked enough blood and we cannot just watch as they try to expand their influence.
A campaign by Zimbabweans abroad should commence immediately to stop ZANU-PF from establishing overseas. Foreign governments must be lobbied to ensure the block of ZANU-PF from foreign soil. What the Zimbabwean people want is for Mugabe and his cronies to go. And we urge the international community to assist us in this regard and ensure the exit of Robert Mugabe from office.
Allowing the expansion of ZANU-PF into foreign land will be going against the wishes of Zimbabweans who want to be freed from this oppressive regime. Mugabe has ruled with an iron fist for thirty years and this is his time to call it a day and leave office. The ZANU-PF efforts to start courtship with the Diaspora should be taken with a pinch of salt as it is highly suspicious.
