Sean Ervine Out Of Zimbabwe World Cup Squad

zimbabwe_cricketZimbabwe Cricket (ZC) has announced that all-rounder Sean Ervine will no longer be a part of the Zimbabwe squad in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 after he voluntarily pulled out from the national team as a result of personal commitments.

Ervine had been living in England for the past six years executing his trade in the English county for Hampshire. After more thought he expressed that he would not be able cope with the intense demands of an international career and his decision was well accepted by the board as expressed by the national chairman of selectors, Alistair Campbell. Zimbabwe cricket was very excited about welcoming Sean back into the setup unfortunately he may have realised now that international cricket is a lot harder than he remembered.

He has lived a very comfortable life in county cricket for the last six years and he obviously decided at the last minute that maybe he was not up to the challenge of international cricket after all. A lot of people have gone to a lot of effort to make it happen for Sean. Although is very late in the day to change his mind, it is better than realising his mistake during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011, said Campbell.

Zimbabwe Cricket has approached the International Cricket Council Event Technical Committee for the approval of Tinotenda Mawoyo to be included in the squad of 15 as a replacement for Ervine.
