The Under-23 squad, which is under the tutelage of Eagles coach Friday Phiri, carries a slender 3-1 lead from the first leg in Lusaka and will be hoping to knock out the Young Chipolopolo side, who are their biggest hurdle on their way to Mozambique.
The Young Warriors captain, Quard Armin, who stars for Premiership outfit Gunners and has also been included in the senior team in their preparations for the African Nations Championships to be held in Sudan next month, has warned his team mates against under estimating Zambia after they beat them 3-1 in the first leg.
“If anything, we have to roll up our sleeves because what is clear is that they don’t want to bow out of this tournament. They will come with all guns blazing and will be looking for revenge. It will not be an easy game. We need to approach this match with a lot of discipline because any mistakes may cost us,” he said.
Coach Phiri said the team was ready for Zambia. “We have started preparations well and we have about six of our players
who have been training with the senior team as they are in the CHAN squad. That means we don’t have problems with their fitness levels.
We are already working on the fitness levels of those who had taken a rest after our first leg match in Zambia. All I can say at this stage is that we are ready to finish off Zambia. We can’t let that important lead slip through our fingers,” said Phiri.
