Sources who attended the burial at the Granville Cemetry in Harare last week told The Zimbabwean that there was chaos after the burial as the children confronted Chiminya and fellow board member Bernard Marioti over the outstanding money.
They say their father had been allocated $1000 by the club in December last year to cater for his upkeep. But only $150 was given to him by Chiminya, who promised to pay the balance.
He died a very painful death, said one of the children. Nobody was taking care of him. He was supposed to have been given $1000 but only got $150. The problem of his payments started when his health deteriorated, but before that he was getting what others were getting.
Normalcy is said to have only returned when a shaken Chiminya promised to look into the issue.
Contacted for comment Marioti said it was a Dynamos family affair.
“This is a family affair. Its not new at Dynamos. It is known there is a problem of accountability at Dynamos and it’s a family affair,” he said.
