“The income generating projects that include sewing, poultry and horticulture have helped a lot in reducing pressure on the families of the infected and orphans as most of them poor and cannot provide their needs,” said Martha Mutongi who is head of the group.
She said that the project, which was established in 2009, enabled families and communities to take care of people living with HIV and Aids as well as orphans.
Recently the group disbursed more than 150 kg maize meal, soya beans and soap to affected people, including orphans and the elderly.
