HARARE- Warriors stand-in captain, Washington Arubi, said the team should put their embarrassing exit from the African Nations Championships behind them, and shift their focus to the decisive third round of the 2012 African Nations Cup qualifiers.Arubi said the CHAN tournament, designed exclusively for home-based players, had given most of the players a good experience, but he stressed that they had become a better side ahead of the African Cup of Nations qualifier against Mali in Bamako next month. The Warriors suffered a humiliating exit from the tournament after they were beaten 2-1 by a makeshift South African team. However, Arubi, who was given the skipper’s arm band for the Chan tournament, said the experience was great.
The Warriors were drawn in the same group with seasoned campaigners Mali, Cape Verde and Liberia for the battle to secure a ticket to the biennial tournament to be co-hosted by Equatorial Guinea and Gabon.
