Triple C Academy Secretary General, Obrien Mashinge, told The Zimbabwean that the Academy would help to develop an interest in soccer and nurture talent in the surrounding community.

“The programme is meant to identify and nurture talent at the grassroots level in marginalised communities such as farms. We have an abundance of talent lying idle so we have decided to come up with an academy,” said Mashinge.

He said they were also working with Premier Soccer League (PSL) and foreign-based players who would regularly visit the academy. Mashinge said players like former South African Pirates striker Gilbert Mushangazhike, former Caps United and Warriors striker Leonard Tsipa, former Dynamos striker Edward Sadomba, Nyasha Chazika and Tichaona Dhiya have already visited the Academy to support the initiative.

Triple C Academy chairman, Godfrey Jeke, said the programme was part of their organisations corporate social responsibility initiative to invest in the community that supports them.

“We want our local youths to achieve their goals by helping them through bankrolling such training programmes,” said Jeke.
