Zapu wishes to comment on Zanu-PFs decision to deny the late Mrs T.V Lesasbe Zanu-PFs actions confirm what they are: a gang of tribal fundamentalists who think only people who are their tribe and party members are heroes. Zanu-PF is not ashamed to victimize corpses. Only fundamentalists are capable of such behavior.
Mutasas comments that Mrs Lesabe was inconsistent because she went back to Zapu are both provocative and silly and not befitting someone of his age. Mutasa and his Zanu-PF know very well that Zapu is Zimbabwes authentic and founder liberation movement. If there is anyone who was not consistent it is the Zanu-PF gang. They defected from Zapu in 1963, only to defect from one another later. Again they deviated from the Patriotic Front arrangement in 1980. That Zanu-PF successfully used and continues to use violence to bulldoze the rest of the people to follow them in their devious ways does not, and will not make them consistent. They are just a splinter of a splinter liberation movement who therefore has no legitimacy when it comes to matters of principle and consistency. Mrs Lesabe and Zapus crime is that they were consistent and principled.
In any case, Mrs Lesabe declared when she was alive that she did not want anything to do with Zanu-PF and its Heroes Acre in Harare, which in our view has been cheapened to an extent that it is now just an ordinary cemetery like Luveve and Warren Hills cemeteries.
Zapu calls on Mutasa to first think before he opens his mouth. We appreciate the poor old man is under pressure to impress his boss but he must not sink so low.
For the record, Mrs Lesabes works speak eloquently and no one can deny that she was a heroic and very brave woman. That is why she had the guts to leave Zanu-PF, while some men continue to be captives of that party and are daily made to cheer something we all know they do not like.
