ZIFA to get $300 000 from FIFA

zifaHARARE - The Zimbabwe Football Association will get a whooping $300 000 bonus from world soccer governing body FIFA - thanks to the successful hosting of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa in June last year, which saw the soccer mother body posting huge profits.

According to FIFA each of the 207 member associations are in line to receive a further one-off bonus as part of its financial assistance programme.

The funds are to be invested first and foremost in the development of football and to enable member associations to take part in FIFA competitions. They are to be used in accordance with FAP regulations.

Member associations can also use this bonus as additional funding for existing or future Goal projects.

Last year each member association also received a bonus payment of $250 000 while each confederation received $2,5 million.
