Chiefs Coach disappointed

kaizer_chiefsPRETORIA - Kaizer Chiefs coach, Vladmir Vermosovich, was left disappointed on Saturday when his charges squandered an opportunity to shoot to the top of the Premier Soccer League when they were held to a 1 - 1 draw by Orlando Pirates in a
bitterly contested Soweto derby.

The result means Pirates still lead the overall standings with 46 points by virtue of a superior goal difference over second placed Ajax Cape Town while Chiefs slipped to third position.

Knowledge Musona and company missed a chance to collect maximum points after striker Kaizer Motaung junior thrust them into the lead in the 12th minute after converting a cross.

Musona – who scored two goals the last time the two teams met – was restricted by a well-marshalled Pirates defence that gave him little space. Motaung’s goal, however, was later cancelled out by Thulasizwe Mbuyane who levelled the score line for the Ghosts late in injury time.
