Estate Agents banned

homesHARARE - Two Estate Agents have been banned by the Estate Agents Council of Zimbabwe, it has been revealed.

A spokesman for the Council told The Zimbabwean that Ubuntu Property Services (Private) Limited and Property Mart (Private) Limited had been banned with immediate effect.

He said the bosses, Charles Mbanje of Ubuntu, and Brian Mazhanga, of Property Mart, could no longer do any business with the Council.

“Members of the public are hereby advised that Charles Mbanje of Ubuntu Property Services (Private) Limited, formerly trading as Chas Everitt (Private) Limited, are not registered with the Estate Agents Council and do not have Compensation Fund Certificates and, as such, anyone doing any business with them is doing so at their own risk,” he said in a statement.

The Estate Agents Council last month issued a strong warning about bogus agents operating in Zimbabwe. The Council said the agents were milking poor customers out of their hard earned cash at a time when they should, instead, be sympathising with them.

The spokesman said the two individuals would be arrested if they continued operating using Council material illegally.
