HARARE - Sungura music maestro Alick MachesoThe revelations were made by the band manager William Tsandukwa when explaining the operations of the popular group amid allegations that Chesos new wife, Tafadzwa, manages the finances of Orchestra Mberikwazvo, and is responsible for the payment of staff.
That is nonsense, retorted Tsandukwa when approached to explain. As the manager, I am in charge of all the money from the shows held during the course of the weekend. It is only on Monday that I make payments to everyone including Macheso himself. What he then goes on to use his money for is his business. But that is how professional we are in our operations, he clarified.
Pressed to reveal how much members earn, Tsandukwa was, however, not at liberty to disclose, opting to admit that the least-paid takes home about US$150 per week.
