The team has been inactive since they played out a goalless draw against Cape Verde in Harare in October last year. They are set to play Namibia in an international friendly match on March 21.

New Warriors coach Norman Mapeza named a strong squad for the game against Mali at the weekend. He dropped former captain Esrom Nyandoro from the team claiming he sacked the former skipper because he wants to look to the future and bring new players into the squad.

It is the second time Mapeza has dropped Nyandoro after he also left the Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder from his squad for the October 2010 game against Liberia.

Nyandoro was later recalled to the side by Tom Saintfiet.

Also dropped was Denmark-based Quincy Antipas, son to assistant coach Joey Antipas as well as Clemence Matawu who plays league football in Poland.

Warriors manager, Sharrif Mussa, said the dropped players would be welcomed back into the team once their form improved.
