Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai is working flat out to ensure that congresses are carried out before the national congresses scheduled for May in Bulawayo. Youth Assembly Chairman Thamusanga Mahlangu, Theresa Makone and National Chairman Lovemore Moyo are expected to preside over elections in the Diaspora where thousands of Zimbabweans live in political and economic exile.
We are behind time because of the machinations of Zanu (PF) which has blocked our rallies in Zimbabwe but we are sure that we will have our party congress as planned. The reason why we are going to the Diaspora is to elect new districts before the nation congress, said Mahlangu. Over 4 millon Zimbabweans are believed to be scattered across the globe and the MDC that was formed in 1999 enjoys immense support from many of them.

HARARE - Top MDC officials have been sent to the USA and Europe to preside over the partys regional congresses.
