Musona, red-hot when the season started and currently the joint top-scorer in the South African premier league, was voted the PSLs player of the month twice in a row – winning the award for November/December and January.
As part of the ABSA Premiership Player/Coach of the Month Dreamfields initiative, winners contribute to the development of football in previously disadvantaged areas.
“It was an honour for me to spend an afternoon with the children in Soweto. They should also count themselves lucky to get the donation because I never had the opportunity to wear boots at age 11/12 back in Zimbabwe,” said Musona.
“It all started at St. Eric’s and for me it was important to use this prize to convey my gratitude to them for the contribution they have made to me as both a player and a person. Thanks to Absa and Greenfields for a project aimed at developing football. I also cannot forget Kaizer Chiefs Football Club for the opportunity they have given me to show my talent on the field.
