The campaigns are targeting all boys’ schools in Bulawayo. The Programs Officer for the Southern Region at PSI, George Bobo, said that boys of school going age were high risk. Circumcision is provided for HIV negative males between the ages of 18 and 29.
The awareness campaign and sensitization was conducted by Peer Educators who had graduated form a training programme on Behavioral Change from the Youth Creative Ideas in Lobengula. Students were taught on the importance and relevance of circumcision and the benefits involved.
The awareness and sensitization was carried out at Maranatha Adventist School, Northlea, Sobukazi, Lobengula, Cowdray Park, Milton and Inyanda.
