Acts of desperation

john_makumbeSometimes it is so ridiculous that I want to laugh, and then it becomes so embarrassing that I end up feeling sorry for our former liberation party, Zanu (PF). (Pictured)

Any party whose president running to Singapore every fortnight must get really worried. They do not know whether he will be able to fly back alive or in the cargo hold of the next plane.

We hear Mugabe last Friday took off again to the East on a private visit. That must have cost this nation yet another $3 million to make it $15 million since the beginning of this year. It is very unlikely that the salaries of civil servants will be reviewed upwards come June or July 2011. We need the money for the first familys trips to the East.

Then you have the Sunday Mails fake story last Sunday. Even an idiot would laugh their lungs out to read that Nelson Chamisa, of all people in the MDC-T, is Zanu (PF) and admires Mugabe as a great leader of this country. Has the Sunday Mail sunk to such depths in gutter journalism? I was asked by one journalist only last week, What is your greatest fear? I told her without any thinking, To be a member of Zanu (PF); that is my greatest fear. If I wake up one day and find out that I am a member of that rotten political party I would be miserable for the rest of my natural life. What is even more surprising in the Chamisa story is the fact that the paper never bothered to question the minister about the alleged note. What sort of journalism is that?

Next you have Oppah Muchinguri preaching the gospel that victims of Zanu (PF) political violence should turn to Jesus so that they can overcome their pain and forgive those that hurt them. Well said Hon. MP (non-constituency), but where is your own confession, madam. Before you visited Brother TB Joshua how many poor people from the opposition had you bludgeoned in the name of Zanu (PF) and Robert Mugabe? Have you approached any of these victims for forgiveness?

When are you going to place a full-page advert in all the papers stating your newly found conviction and condemning violence? I personally wait rather anxiously to see such an advert. Was it not Emmerson Mnangagwa, Minister of Defence and former minister of State Security, who, a few months ago, also claimed he had turned to Christ? We never heard any further about his convictions regarding political violence. He never told us about repenting from all the heinous crimes and other acts of violence he perpetrated against the people of Matabeleland and midlands during Gukurahundi. Has Zanu (PF) become so desperate?

The final act of Zanu (PF) desperation was committed by the Zanu (PF) Repressive Police (ZRP)s Riot Squad on Saturday last week when they flooded the Nazarene church in Glen Norah with tear smoke and beat up people who were praying for peace. At least four people were injured and seven were arrested. There was no disorder in that church; there was nothing illegal that was being done. Yet the police decided to just demonstrate their evil by beating up people at the end of the service for no reason whatsoever.

It is surprising that Zanu (PF) actually thinks that people who will have been so badly mistreated will one day vote for that party. But perhaps the purpose of such acts of evil is simply to deny the MDC-T any platform whatsoever to communicate with the people. Little is it realized that most of the campaigning for the MDC-T is actually done by Zanu (PF) and its directionless agents. Ichoo!
