However, another top bar and restaurant frequented mainly by the young generation, is currently being demolished after the bosses failed to cough up the ZTA Levy as well as cash to pay the Messenger of Court who removed their equipment.
A visit to The Balcony by this reporter over the Easter break showed “men at work” demolishing the infrastructure. The signs have now been removed and what remains is a “shell” of what used to be Harare’s top night spot on Wednesdays when “Ladies Night” was held under DJ and urban groovers musician “Nesto”.
Sports Diner Restaurant and Nightclub and Chelsea ‘s Restaurant and Grill Bar in the Central Business District (CBD) were last month also temporarily closed for failing to pay the ZTA Levy on time. Notices were quickly put up outside the popular places, much to the dismay of thirsty and hungry clients, informing them the management had failed to pay the ZTA levy.
Last month the Messenger of Court closed The Balcony Restaurant Grill and Bar, formerly, Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) Restaurant and Grill, which had its title removed by its South African franchise partner.
