Dancing Queens challenge society

BULAWAYO - Talented dance group Suvanna Queens have challenged today's society to accept female dancers as professionals and desist from castigating them as people of loose morals.

The Bulawayo ensemble, which broke away from Phenomenal Queens and relocated to Harare three months ago, said female dance groups have been subject to insult and it is high time society accept them as an organized discipline.

Dancing is like any other profession. It is a God given talent. As Suvanna Queens, dancing is our gift from God and it is time people learn to embrace it. For me to dance in a club, I don’t feel cheap. But if men feel otherwise it’s their problem, said co-lead dancer Carol Charinga.
