Former Warrior empowering youth in SA

footballJOHANNESBURG - Former Zimbabwean national team player Butler Masango is empowering youths through the dazzling skills he acquired as a soccer player, by nurturing junior players at Little Legends Foundation in Johannesburg.

Masango, who devotes most of his time to identifying young talent and developing it, says junior players are very easy to work with as they are determined to succeed.

Im currently working with Little Legends Foundation where we integrate and evaluate kids from various backgrounds and unite them through soccer. I usually spend most of my time with these young players as I want the best out of them and they are very easy to work with. They always follow instructions. I have been involved in young talent for a long time and I am moving around different provinces helping youths, added Masango.

He was not shy to express a desire to be included in the junior national team set-ups as he believes he has a lot to offer junior

players in the country.

I have great zeal to develop talent back home and I want to give back to the community, said Masango, who started his career with Rufaro Rovers.

He played three seasons for them, and also skippered the team, before being lured by Black Aces in 1997 where he became darling to the fans as he scored most club goals.

Overseas he played in Poland for Lech Poznan, Kps Konin and in Vietnam he played for Huda Hue. He is also a member of the famous U-23 team which played in the 95 All Africa Games and 96 Olympics qualifiers alongside Gilbert Mushangazhike, Methembe Ndlovu and Gift Muzadzi.
