From the mouths of babes

MREWA - Nandi Jani (11) recited an emotionally charged poem to hundreds of mourners at her fathers memorial service here last Sunday.

The grade six daughter to the assassinated MDC beacon in Mrewa North, Shepherd Nani, recited how orphaned children and the less privileged struggled to make ends meet.

Part of the poem reads. The effects of poverty have reached shocking proportions, Children of the world rise and say no to all forms of man-made poverty.

Nandi is a budding poet who has graced several public gatherings. She was invited to recite poems at a Heal Zimbabwe Tombstones unveiling ceremony scheduled for yesterday, Wednesday, at Warren Park Cemeteries. The event targeted graves of victims of political violence. Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai was the invited guest speaker.
