MARONDERA Residents from Rujeko high-density suburb here last week woke up to find the neighbourhood littered with thousands of fliers calling for the toppling of Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai as president of his MDC-T party.The fliers bearing the MDCs official logo urged members to use the partys upcoming congress to remove Tsvangirai as president because he has held the position for more than two terms.
While no one has claimed ownership of the fliers, MDC members here suspect they were distributed by President Robert Mugabes Zanu (PF) party or its allies in the Central Intelligence Organisation as part of a campaign to destabilise the MDC ahead of congress.
We woke up Tuesday morning to see most streets littered with the flierssome of us determined to see Tsvangirai deliver real political change to the oppressed people of Zimbabwe did not take the fliers seriously, said Jackson Nzuma, an MDC supporter.
We realise forces of doom led by Mugabe fear Tsvangirai and would do everything possible to influence his removal from MDC-T leadership, added Nzuma.
