Three MDC provincial structures at the weekend held peaceful elections to elect new provincial teams ahead of the partys Third National Congress to be held in Bulawayo at the end of the month.The elections were held in Harare, Chitungwiza and Mashonaland West.Paul Madzore, the Glen South MP was voted the chairperson for Harare province with his deputy being Alex Maphosa. Other people who were voted into office are, Kambuzuma MP, Hon. Willias Madzimure (Secretary), Eric Murayi (Deputy Secretary), Highfield East MP, Hon. Pearson Mungofa, Chisipite Senator, Hon. Obert Gutu (Information and Publicity Secretary), Donald Chirunga (Director of Elections).
The committee members are; Jonathan Gombera, Anthony Chingadeya, Cecilia Nkuwane, Tsaurai Marima and Steffan Takaidzwa.
Ronia Bunjira was voted the chairperson for the Womens Assembly with Agrity Chisanwerota coming in as her deputy. Revayi Muguti was voted secretary, Olivia Mhlahliwana (Deputy Secretary), Joyce Sigauke (Organising Secretary), Mable Gwenzi (Deputy Organising Secretary), Chipo Weston (Treasurer) and Madzindiko (Information and Publicity Secretary).
In the Youth Assembly, Costa Machingauta was elected chairperson, Stewart Mukoyo (Deputy Chairperson), Robert Manyengavana (Secretary), Victor Chifodya (Deputy Secretary), Wiseman Maengeza (Treasurer), Paul Gorekore (Organising Secretary), Rebecca Mafukeli (Deputy Organising Secretary) and Maxwell Katsande (Information and Publicity).
In Chitungwiza, saw Zengeza East MP, Hon. Alexio Musundire being re-elected chairperson while Norton MP, Hon. Edward Musumbu was elected deputy chairperson. Other members are; Chari Parirenyatwa (Secretary) Kaniso Makarumu (Organising secretary) and Goromonzi South MP, Hon. Greenbate Dongo (Information and Publicity Secretary).
Emily Chipungu was elected Deputy Secretary with Patson Chipiro coming in as Deputy Organising Secretary.
In Mashonaland West, Japhet Karemba was re-elected chairperson with Eddie Ndiraire voted in as the deputy chairperson. Other members are; Dennis Ndanga (Secretary), Evylene Huchu (Deputy Secretary), Wilson Makanyire (Organising Secretary), Simba Takawira (Deputy Organising Secretary) and Charlton Hwende (Information and Publicity Secretary).
The other nine provinces are expected to hold their elections this weekend.
