VP Mujuru speaks to Manicaland tycoons

mujuru_joice.jpegHARARE - VICE President Joyce Mujuru (pictured) will tomorrow address business tycoons based in Manicaland at a breakfast organised by the Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries (CZI).

The female politician is expected to tackle the topic – “Challenges facing industry in Manicaland”.

The Manicaland region has regularly complained about being marginalised by its Harare counterpart where everything seems to happen.

This is probably the first time that a heavyweight has addressed the business community in Manicaland coming at a time when the political situation there is very explosive.

The former ruling party, Zanu PF and its rival, MDC-T, are engaged in running battles trying to lure supporters especially from the business community operating in the Eastern Highlands of Zimbabwe.

The meeting will be hosted by the CZI and it is being held in the Holiday Inn, Mutare beginning at 7:30 am.

“Manicaland Chamber of Industries and the mother body CZI would like to invite businesspeople in Manicaland to a meeting to discuss challenges facing industries in Manicaland,” said Sylvia Muteva, the CZI Manicaland spokesperson.

This is the second time this week that the Vice President has been invited to address a top level meeting.

She has also addressed another breakfast meeting, this time organised by the Zimbabwe National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC), the country’s second largest and most influential business grouping.

The CZI is Zimbabwe’s largest and most influential business orgganisation.
