Mavhudzi was arrested in Bulawayo on 24 February 2011 after posting a comment on the Prime Ministers facebook wall expressing his approval of citizens uprisings in Egypt.
The alleged offensive message read: I am overwhelmed, I dont want to say Mr or PM what happened in Egypt is sending shockwaves to dictators around the world. No weapon but unity of purpose worth emulating, hey.
He was released on $200 bail on 31 March 2011 after spending a month in the cells.
Mavhudzi was represented by Lizwe Jamela of the Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights while Jerry Mutsindikwa appeared for the state.Post published in: Politics
