She wrote the screenplay and also stars in a film, “Next Door to the Velinskys”, to be screened at the Shanghai International Film Festival soon.
The film is a very confrontational story that covers the forbidden subject of incest and child abuse. The screenplay is based on fact with Chloe being inspired by one of her friends who was a survivor of child abuse. The film was made independently on a miniscule budget of $300,000 in Sydney Australia, and is directed by Darren K Hawkins.
The film is among more than 200 selected international films of high quality, a variety of commercial blockbusters, art-house films, indies, box-office top rankers and award-winning films by master filmmakers. In recent years, the Shanghai International Film Festival has drawn high attention by numerous prestigious film directors and stars including Halle Berry, John Woo, Maria Grazia Cucinotta.
Chloe is currently in pre-production on her next project – a romantic comedy with Shakespeare in Love producer Mark Cooper. – View the trailer at: http://vimeo.com/11397697
