The action packed movie, that has already been pirated, was directed by George Gatsi.
Mahendere plays Tyson, bodyguard to a rich man played by Gatsi who returns to Zimbabwe after serving some time in a South African jail.
"We set the movie in Harare. The producing partners include Golden Castle films and Sharp Sight Media, who put together splendid scenes in what is to be one of the first commercial co-production in the country," said Gatsi.
He added that the co-producers were already in talks with a regional television broadcasting station to air the movie.
"We are almost through with the post-production and we are currently working on the sub-titles in situations where Shona and Ndebele were used to cater for the international audience," said Gatsi.
A team of local film technicians has been put together under the solid supervision of veteran producer Cosmas Jonga, who has over a decade of experience producing award winning videos.
The film is a psychological thriller based on excerpts of a true story which reveals how strength of character can defeat the greatest challenges that life throws in one's direction.
"Centre of Attraction" depicts the lives of typical Zimbabweans and examines human nature.
Upcoming gospel musician Thobekile Nleya, who is the main character, plays the role of Stacy, a beautiful and cash-rich woman who is searching for true love.
Popular urban groove artist Madiz of the "Kazeveve" fame also features – as a drug warlord, Pablo.
Mahendere is the man who produced the notorious jingles Nyatsoterera by Mbare Chimurenga choir that sings praises to President Mugabe and Zanu (PF).
