According to a statement by the M D C, Mangoma is being persecuted for assisting in importing fuel in order to avert a national crisis.

Mangoma was arrested early this year, spent more than a week in remand prison and was released after paying a US$5 000 bail.

Another MP, Meki Makuyana of Chipinge South will have his judgment passed at the High Court in Harare on Friday.

Makuyana was convicted in 2009 by a Chipinge magistrate on false charges of kidnapping Zanu PF supporters and sentenced to two years in prison.

He appealed against both the charges and conviction. Since then he has been on suspension as the MP for Chipinge South. The MDC says the charges were false.
