The children of Zimbabwe will feature in a new exhibition by ZUJ at the National Gallery to open on June 16.

More than 60 photographs of Zimbabwean children by
local photojournalists who include Maxwell Sibanda, Tsvangirai
Mukwazhi, Anne Mpalume and Bethule Nkiwane will be on show for a month.

“This is a grouping of photojournalists whom we decided
to give an opportunity together with the NGZ to showcase their work
and in this particular exhibition it is the image of the African
Child,” said Chaka Bosha, ZUJ national coordinator.

Bosha added that the exhibition’s programme would be dominated by
children who will give narratives and poems. Maxwell Sibanda, who will contribute three quarters of the
photographs, said it was an honour to put up the exhibition. “Every day
we are surrounded by children engaged in various activities and as
photojournalists we have managed to compile some of the most telling
photographs. Photography is all about art and I am glad that this
collection will be a milestone in the development of local
photography,” he said.
