Faheen, who was engaged as an instrument technician and lead guitarist at Pengaudzoke Stars, said he parted ways with the band which nurtured his music career as he wanted to build his own music empire independent from his father.
“I have learnt enough about the music industry from my father who is ranked among top Sungura musicians in the country and it was high time I was weaned to go my own way. The desire to compose my own songs and build my profile as a Sungura Musician was one of the reasons why I decided to go solo. Also I wanted to help expand the music industry in the country. As children born of career musicians, we should not wait until our fathers pass on to find our feet as musicians,” said Faheen.
Although he is still performing live shows on hired musical instruments and complementing his songs with copy-rights from his father’s popular albums, Faheen is proving his worth in the highly competitive music industry.
