Food for thought: The first step

The first step in any journey is the most important one, and the first step a person takes towards the Lord is crucial. Raising your hand in the back of a room, with everyone’s heads bowed and eyes closed so as not to embarrass the new convert, is far from the biblical call to discipleship.

The biblical call was to a life of sacrifice and dying daily (Matthew 16:24), to no longer live for ourselves but for the One who has purchased us with His own blood. The true call to radical discipleship will be restored and will come when a radical Church lives by radical faith in the Word of God.

Is the Church teaching and encouraging true discipleship or simply “coldness and lukewarmness”? – from the book “The Harvest” by Rick Joyner.
